These sarees are made using traditional handblock printing techniques and are dyed using natural Indigo dyes.
The sarees feature intricate and vibrant designs which are created by stamping/ wooden block a pattern onto the fabric by hand. The fabric used to make the sarees is a blend of silk and cotton, making them lightweight and comfortable to wear. Indigo dye is extracted from the leaves of the indigo plant by a combination of air oxidation and microbial fermentation. The resulting dye is a dark blue-black color and is insoluble in water. It can then be used to create these magical prints.
